He was predeceased by: his former wife Jane Bretske Cousar (Deedy King Cousar); and his brothers, Dr. Charles Blanton Cousar and Dr. Robert Wilbur Cousar, Jr.. He is survived by: his son Jonathan Burton Cousar (Sheena Nasreen); his grandchildren, Myles Burton and Shyanna Starr Cousar of Union City, NJ; and his child Starr Cousar Miller (Thomas Frederick) of Davidson, NC..
