He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, William Charlie Newman, Sr. and Nannie McCaskill Newman; his siblings, Gerald Cecil Newman, Boyd Newman, Grady Newman, Roy Newman, Alma Hilton, Susie Mae McGee and Sara Lee Anderson; his son Gerald Scott Newman; his great grandchild Briggs Chambers; his wife Cora Lee Sullivan Newman; his sons, Marvin Newman (Leda), Charlie Newman (Carol), Jeff Newman (Marian) and Dylan Newman (Tessa); and his siblings, Nelson Newman, Elaine Hartis and Helen Catoe. He was also cherished by 3 granddaughters; 5 grandsons; 4 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family would request memorials be made the Mount Pisgah Baptist Church Building Fund, 2140 McBee Hwy., Jefferson, SC 29718.
