It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Kenneth Joel Gainey of Bethune, South Carolina, born in Camden, South Carolina, who passed away on January 15, 2025, at the age of 63, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Ralph Claiborne "R. C." Gainey and Ada Kathryn Williams Gainey; his brother Steven Carl "Epoo" Gainey; and his great grandchild Lana Grace Gainey. He is survived by: his wife Melissa Player "Tissy" Gainey; his children, Timothy Joel "T. J." Gainey (Jamie Ann Gainey) and Erin Elisabeth Gainey Crenshaw (Jeff Saxton); his grandsons, Benjamin (Alexis), Sebastian, Jackson and Brayden; his great grandchildren, Carson and Elijah; and his siblings, Marilyn Watkins and Ralph Gainey (Rhonda).
Visitation was held on Monday, January 20th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Baker Funeral Home (210 E Hilton St, Kershaw, SC 29067). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, January 21st 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Timrod Baptist Church (4227 Timrod Rd, Bethune, SC 29009).
