She was predeceased by: her parents, Charles "Chuck" Benjamin, Sr. and Elizabeth Radford Thompson; and her son Ronnie McElveen. She is survived by: her husband Jerry Hoyt Starnes; her son Lee McElveen (Carol) of Bennettsville; her brother Charles Thompson (Judy) of Camden; her uncle Carl Starnes of Tatum; her grandchildren, Regina Polson (Lance) of Hartsville, Samantha McElveen of Hartsville and Michael Odom of Deland; her great grandchildren, Payton Polson and Bennett Polson; her daughter-in-law Rhonda Carnes of Hartsville; and her close friend Precious. She is also survived by nieces and nephews.
