He was predeceased by: his parents, Nick Ware Hayes, Sr. and Carrie Lee Brigman Hayes; his son Nicholas Ware Hayes; his parents-in-law, Barbara Hodge and Billy Hodge; and his siblings, W. C. Hayes and Elease Moye.
He is survived by: his wife Ginger Jones Hayes of Bennettsville, SC; his children, Sherry English (Brian) of Bennettsville, SC, Jenny Poole (Chad) of Bennettsville, SC, Nicole Peele of Bennettsville, SC and Brenton F. Hayes of Myrtle Beach, SC; and his stepchildren, Regann Howell of Rockingham, NC and Kevin Howell (Crystal) of Ellerbe, NC. He is also survived by 4 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren.
