He was predeceased by: his parents, Elzie Newman and Verdie Mae Johnson Newman; and his brothers, Monroe Newman, Ronnie Newman, Marvin Newman and W. O. Newman.
He is survived by: his wife Deborah Bechtold Newman; his children, Christopher Newman of Rockingham, NC, Jason Newman of Bennettsville and Heather Gilson of Slippery Rock, PA; his grandchildren, Rain Newman, Mariah Newman and Victoria Newman; and his sisters, Bobbie Jean Gibbs of Scottsville, KY, Wanda Jones of Trenton, FL, Faye Ciesynski of Salem, FL and Sherry Renfroe of Centre, AL. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and other extended family.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, February 4th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Bruton's Fork Baptist Church (1020 Bruton Fork Church Rd, Bennettsville, SC 29512). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, February 4th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
