He was predeceased by: his parents, Grady Fay and Fern Hovis Scism; and his siblings, Jack Scism and Linda Paul. He is survived by: his wife Geraldine Rogers Scism; his daughters, Beth Scism (Robert Newton) of McColl and Karen Truesdale (Matthew) of Simpsonville; and his sisters, Sadie Patterson (Gilbert) and Shirley Ware of Kings Mountain, NC..
