He was predeceased by: his parents, Woodrow Locklear and Monnie Mae Bowen Locklear; his wife Janie Bridges Locklear; his son James Elmore "Mo" Locklear, Jr.; his daughter-in-law Dora Brigman Locklear; and his siblings, William Locklear and Betty Locklear.
He is survived by: his daughter Joy Locklear Hicks (Lonnie "Peanut") of Bennettsville; his siblings, Clyde Locklear of Laurel Hill, NC, Wanda Strickland of Laurinburg, NC and Audrey Locklear of Gibson, NC; his grandchildren, Thomas Zebulen Locklear, Kimberly Faith Hicks, Samantha Leanne Locklear, Lonnie Hicks (Beth Steen) and Crystal Wright (Chad); and his great grandchildren, Nicholas Wright (Ashlee), Austin Hicks, Jacob Hicks and Luke Hicks. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
