She was predeceased by: her parents, Herman Kirkland and Celia Louis Stubbs Swann; her husbands, Thomas J. Hudson and Rev. Theodore Kirby; her brothers, Otis Lee Swann and Herman Clifton Swann; and her son Andy Kirby.
She is survived by: her children, Diane Sylvester (Phillip), Zoa Welch, Dora Locklear, Frances Locklear (Evans), Joanne Warr (Randy), Cathy Shoemake, Woodrow "Buddy" Kirby (Sheila) and Charles Kirby; her siblings, Jack Swann (Betty Jane) and Ethel Swann Driggers; her grandchildren, Dustin Welch, Phillip Sylvester (Veronica) and Jennifer Gainey; her caregiver Patricia Ford; and her grandchildren, Thomas Eugene Sylvester and Michael David Sylvester. She is also survived by grandchildren and great grandchildren.
