She was predeceased by: her father Mickeal Wayne Varnum Sr.; her stepparents, Dennis Lee Lunsford and Mary Beatrice Motes Varnum; her stepsisters, Lisa Mullinax Hughes and Katherine Suzanne Jones; and her grandparents, Johnny and Geneva Watts.
She is survived by: her mother Geneva Watts Lunsford; her spouse Jamie Scott Traynham; her sons, Gary Leon Demerest III (Dixie), Brandon Acey Demerest (Michaela) and Matthew Minor (Val); her siblings, Michael Wayne Varnam (Patty), Wanda Galey Young (Ken) and Leslie Ann Curry (Chris); her stepbrothers, Larry Richard Reese "Ricky", Arthur Leon Kay "Buddy", Christopher Kay "Pete" and Andrew Kay; her grandchildren, Sara Eliabeth Demerest, Faith Ann Demerest and Levi Sean Demerest; and her stepmother Peggy Jones Varnum. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews.
