He was predeceased by: his parents, Hansel Kytle and Mary Etta Mize Whitfield. He is survived by: his sons, John Gregory Whitfield of Belton, Larry Dean Whitfield, Jr. (Felicia) of Anderson and Michael Douglas Whitfield of Anderson; his siblings, Sammy Wade Whitfield, John Henry Whitfield, Billy Clyde Whitfield and Ruby Nell Whitfield Bailey; and his grandchildren, Skyler, Gage, Drake, Analeece, Brice, Blayke Whitfield and Emmett Vaughn.
In lieu of flowers, the family request memorials be made to the Larry Dean Whitfield, Sr. fund in c/o Cox Funeral Home, P.O. Box 236 Belton, SC 29627 to help offset funeral expenses.
