He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Mills and Retha Clamp Shearer; and his former wife Irene Shirley Shearer. He is survived by: his wife Jackie Grant Branyon Shearer; his children, Mitzi Yvette Shearer of Greenville and Matt Walker of Washington, DC; his stepsons, Donnie Branyon (Stacey) of Honea Path and Steve Branyon of Honea Path; his brother Kenneth Shearer (Dottie) of Belton; and his grandchildren, Colt Branyon, Elle Branyon and Reenie Shearer.
Visitation was held on Monday, December 30th 2024 from 12:30 PM to 1:30 PM at the Cox Funeral Home (201 River St, Belton, SC 29627). A graveside service was held on Monday, December 30th 2024 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers memorials can be made to Disabled American Veterans, Macedonia Baptist Church of Williamston or Covenant Baptist Church of Anderson.
