He was predeceased by: his parents, Harold Lee Duncan and Peggy Gentry Jordan; his stepfather Howard Wilson; and his brother Eddy Lee Duncan. He is survived by: his wife Jacqueline Felicia Gurley Duncan; his daughters, Angela Patterson (Mike) of Anderson and Tracy Smith of Belton; his sisters, Cindy Wilson Stewart and Cathy Ann Wilson; and his grandchildren, Dakotah Ray Thomas, Charles Chase Smith, Scottie Johnson, Noah Mac Paul Smith, River Duncan, Dessie Lynn Smith and Gracie Patterson.
