She was predeceased by: her parents, Willie Ellis and Studdie Oliver Ellis; her husband Lewis C. "Buck" Freeman; her daughter Birdie Mae Lots; and her siblings, Lizzy Black, Emma Carter, A. C. Ellis, Willie Ellis and J. Van Ellis.
She is survived by: her granddaughter Theresa Freeman-Weddington; and her close friend David Tate. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
