It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Betty Cothran of Belton, South Carolina, born in Anderson, South Carolina, who passed away on July 26, 2021, at the age of 82, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her husband Henry Tilman Cothran; her parents, Aaron Brock and Mary Frances Hicks Chapman; and her sister Doris Chapman. She is survived by: her children, Michael Cothran of Belton, Timothy Cothran (Teresa) of Williamston, Pamela Bryant (Leroy) of Piedmont and Amy Collins (Jamie) of Belton; her siblings, Carolyn Lowe of Honea Path, Shirley Cobb of Belton and Mike Chapman of Belton; her grandchildren, Ashley Shai Collins (Hunter), Katelyn Ann Lesley, Christine Joy Gessert (Eric), Mitchell Lee Cothran (Ashley), Lindsay Elaine Trombini (Anthony), Christa Brooke Collins, Alyssa Ann Collins, Christian Allan Collins (Diana) and Joshua James Collins; and her great grandchildren, Shane Erskine, Zachary Erskine, Madison Erskine, Lacie Trombini, Sophia Echeverry, Avery Trombini, Jaxson Lesley, Bryce Cothran and Cameron Cothran.

“I am deeply saddened to hear of the passing of a long time friend and former high school classmate from the Class of 1956, Belton High School (the greatest class to have ever graduated from dear old Belton High. Betty was truly a wonderful friend, who I had the greatest respect for and loved, just like I love every other classmate from this great class. She is going to be deeply missed by all her family, but, I wish all of them my deepest love and sympathy. Derrell Wright-Class of 1956 ,BHS..”
