It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Virginia Barnes of Beaufort, South Carolina, who passed away on December 7, 2024, at the age of 85, leaving to mourn family and friends. Though Virginia may no longer walk beside us, her memory will forever be enshrined in the fabric of the lives of those Virginia touched, a beacon of light guiding us through the darkness. In her absence, her spirit lives on — a gentle whisper in the breeze, a ray of sunlight on a cloudy day, a reminder that love knows no boundaries.
She was predeceased by: her spouse Norris Oliver Barnes; her parents, William Campbell and Lula Blackmon Campbell; and her son Tony Thornley. She is survived by: her children, Debra Hiers, Rodney Thornley, Rusty Thornley and Tammy Sorenson. She is also survived by 14 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Thursday, December 12th 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Copeland Funeral Service (1 Copeland Dr, Beaufort, SC 29902). A graveside service was held on Thursday, December 12th 2024 at 1:00 PM at the Ayers Family Cemetery.
