She was predeceased by: her parents, Frank Simmons and Tessie Hill Simmons; her husband Jack; her stepdaughter Candace Coates Brown; her daughter Candy Coates Brown; and her granddaughter Toni Coates Montondo.
She is survived by: her sons, Thomas Coates (Kitty) and Jack Coates. She is also survived by six grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
