He was predeceased by: his parents, Gilbert W. Adkins and Vera Mae Adkins (Loudermilk). He is survived by: his wife Patty Adkins; his children, Gloria Beth Davis (Michael), Cheryl VanScoy (Ryan) and Adam Horton; and his grandchildren, Joseph, Taylor, Whitney, Kirsten, Katlyn Tabetha, Blake, James, Jon, Alex, Katelyn, Ciara, Emily and Noah.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations sent to be to the American Cancer Society.
