He was predeceased by: his parents, John Robert Poindexter and Clara Spivey Poindexter. He is survived by: his wife Betty Hunkapiller Poindexter; his children, Raymond Bryan Poindexter, Jr. and Rhonda Francese; and his sister Sue Hughes. He is also survived by six grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that donations be made to Scottish Rite children's hospital.
