She was predeceased by: her parents, George William Knight and Jessie Brown Kennedy; her husband John T. Saunders; her sister Mary Suchower; and her niece Laura Ryles.

She is survived by: her daughter Diane Caldwell (Jeff) of Beaufort; her grandson Tanner Caldwell; her nieces, Sheila Ford and Susan Lingenfelsor; and her nephew Tommy Ryles.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations be made to Alzheimer's Services of Greater Beaufort.
