We are sad to announce that on November 25, 2021, Oscar Rudolph Bishop (Beaufort, South Carolina) passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his brothers, Herbert Stephen Bishop, James Marion Bishop, Frederick Russell Bishop and Robert Wayne "Hezzie" Bishop. He is survived by: his brother Steve; his wife Mary; his children, Rudy Bishop (Denise) of St. Helena Island and Elizabeth Bishop Later (Kent) of Fortson, Georgia; and his sister Patricia "Patty" Bishop Hudson (Roy) of Walterboro. He is also survived by five grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren.

“I am so sorry for your loss. Sonny had a profound impact on all who were fortunate enough to know him. When I was a teenager, Sonny encouraged my love of music. He helped me record a song for my wedding in 1979 that I sang again at my daughter's wedding in 1994. He had such a big impact on many people's lives and he was always so quiet about it all.
