He was predeceased by: his parents, John Barker and Margaret Barker; and his sister Elizabeth Martin. He is survived by: his wife Terri Barker; his brother Steve Barker; his sons, James Barker (Laura) and Don Gruel (Noel); and his granddaughters, Riley and Lhotse.
