It is with great sadness that we announce the death of John Sams Colquhoun in Beaufort, South Carolina, who passed away on September 18, 2023, at the age of 68, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his sister Therese Colquhoun Reed. He is survived by: his daughter Caroline Colquhoun; his grandchildren, Lilah Alexander and Oliver Michael Kish; his brother Arthur Randolph Colquhoun; and also Therese Colquhoun. He is also survived by many nephew, nieces, and cousins.

“Shocked to hear of John's passing. We spoke with him only 2 weeks ago at church, week before he died. He gave us no indication. I worked with John at St.Peter's on church history, enjoying his lived experience of Beaufort history and in particular, St.Peter's. Catholic Church. He was always a true Southern Gentleman, always dressed in a suit for Sunday Mass. Our sincere condolences to his family, especially his sweet mother, Theresa. May he rest in God's Perpetual Light.
