He was predeceased by: his parents, John William Elston, Sr. and Betsy Heady Elston; and his granddaughter Katrina Elston. He is survived by: his spouse Noriko; his children, Wanda St. Ann, Linda Elston, John Elston III and Norma Evans (Herschel); and his sister Diane Clark. He is also survived by nine grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that donations be made to St. Jude's Research Hospital.
