He was predeceased by: his parent Erla Brinkman (Dommel); and his sister Terri Lynn Pearson. He is survived by: his wife Debora Kay Brinkman; his father John Adam Brinkman Jr.; his siblings, Todd Brinkman (Vicky) of North East, MD and Phyllis Brinkman (Todd Warren) of North East, MD; his children, Brian Brinkman of North East, MD and Jonnie Ann Vidales (Dimas Vidales) of Jacksonville, FL; and his stepsons, Joshua Koonce of Baltimore, MD, John Koonce of Indiana and Justin Koonce (Tina Miller). He is also survived by 14 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to Walter Reed Veterans Hospital in care of the funeral home.
