He was predeceased by: his parents, Roger Cowart and Nell Byrd Cowart; his wife Diane; his siblings, William Cowart and Joanne Sharpe; his son Roger Patrick Cowart; and his son-in-law William Mello.
He is survived by: his daughters, Sandra C. O'Connell (Daniel) and Bonnie Mello; and his grandchildren, Sarah O'Connell Davis, Ryan Mello, Rachel Mello Weiss and Shannon Rhodes. He is also survived by 4 great grandchildren.
