He was predeceased by: his parents, John Robert Horton and Willie V. Walker; and his brother John "Bobby" Robert Horton. He is survived by: his wife Teresa Horton of Beaufort, SC; his children, Bill Horton (Lee Ann) of North Augusta, Kelly Horton of Ottawa, TN, Melissa DeGraff (Glen) of Augusta and Lee Ann Hall (Mike) of Martinez; and his brother Wayne T. Horton of Vidalia. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren, several nieces, nephews, and lifelong friends.
