He was predeceased by: his parents, George Joseph Madlinger Jr. and Doris Maes Madlinger; and his brother Mark Andrew Madlinger. He is survived by: his wife Julie Upton Madlinger; his children, George Joseph Madlinger IV, Robert Maes Madlinger and Elizabeth Ashley Madlinger; and his siblings, Kim Madlinger Dempsey (Davey), Barbara Madlinger Cooper (Dan), Henri Maes Madlinger (Casey) and Susan Madlinger Faulds. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and grandnieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, a gift in Geordie's memory may be made to the United Way of the Lowcountry Inc. (specify Meals on Wheels), Coastal Conservation League, and St.Peter's Catholic Church.
