He was predeceased by: his parents, Rosemary and George Chapman Sr.; his siblings, Lawrence, Sandra and Roslyn Chapman; and his daughter Tonya Simmons- of Washington.
He is survived by: his former wife Geraldine Norris; his wife Margaret Sumpter; his brother Fredrick Chapman (Sarah); and his children, Joyce Maria Jones, Gloria Brown (Earnest), Deidra Sumpter-Chapman, Gwendolyn Chapman-King (Byron), Vernon Truell, Gary J. Chapman and William "Butch" Evans. He is also survived by 22 grandchildren, 28 great- grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren, nephews, nieces, cousins and dear friends.
