He was predeceased by: his son-in-law Richie Viera; his grandson Ryan Brooks; his brother Charles Horton; and his half-sisters, Mary "Mae" Smith and Norma Hempton.
He is survived by: his wife Ruth Reiger Horton of Beaufort, SC; his daughters, Brenda Viera, Linda Brooks of Columbia, SC and Glenda Adkins (Tab) of Bluffton, SC; his grandchildren, Chris Viera, Amanda Viera, Eric Brooks (Kayla), Sara Kozar (Jon), Tabitha Herrington (Tim), Teena Antignano (Glenn), Jimmy Adkins (Madeleine) and Ricky Adkins (Chloe); and his great grandchildren, Anna, Emma, Olivia, Noah, Remmie, Clif, Wren, Ivory, Edmund, Harold, Otis, Mayla and Ervin.
