He was predeceased by: his wife Mildred Cosby; and his daughter Cheryl. He is survived by: his children, Laura, Linda, Frederic, Edwin and Joan Ryder; his brother William Barnhart; his daughter-in-law Cassandra; his grandchildren-in-law, Dexter and Kaya; and his granddaughter Alice. He is also survived by sixteen grandchildren and sixteen great grandchildren.
