He was predeceased by: his father Edward J. Guinan. He is survived by: his wife Gertrude (Jung); his sons, Edward J., Thomas (Betsy), Jeffrey and Matthew Guinan; his grandchildren, Rachel Ianelli, Brynne Karwas, Colin McQuade, Chase Guinan, Gavin Guinan, Aidan Guinan, Brodie Guinan, Jeff Michael Guinan and Fallon Guinan; his great grandchildren, Tessa Sullivan, Cecil Ianelli, Capri Guinan, Genevieve Guinan, Xavier Karwas, Mila Karwas and Arlo Guinan; and his great great grandchildren, Frances "Fanny" Sullivan and Violet May Sullivan.
The military honors was held on Friday, January 17th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the Beaufort National Cemetery (1601 Boundary St, Beaufort, SC 29902).
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations be made to the equine therapy program; Heroes on Horseback, a Lowcountry non profit where Ed volunteered as a riding instructor .
