He was predeceased by: his parents, Saxby S. Chaplin, Sr. and Marguerite Vaigneur Chaplin. He is survived by: his children, Charles F. Chaplin, Jr. (Chuck), James Peto Chaplin (Petie) and Charlotte Waskiewicz (William); and his grandchildren, Ryan Chaplin (Amanda), Brittany Smith (Josh), J. P. Chaplin (Lindsey), Madi Chaplin, Miranda Coffaro (Gabe), Matthew Millburn (Amanda), Ashley Smith (Jeremy) and Harley Martin (Chelsea).

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that donations be made to The Beaufort County Animal Shelter, Jasper Jarm (Jasper Animal Rescue Mission) or any other local animal charity.
