He is survived by: his wife Mary Steele Matthews; his children, Judy Price (Rocky), Truett Matthews (Patricia) and Lora Matthews; and his grandchildren, Bradley Smith (Lynn), Chris Smith (Joy), Kevin Smith, Kimberly Matthews, Hope Wheeler (Glenn), Nick Matthews (Cindy) and Melanie Tuttle. He is also survived by 21 great-grandchildren and 6 great-great-grandchildren.
