She was predeceased by: her husband Wesley E. Eargle of Batesburg; her former husband Ernest Mehaffey of Columbia; her siblings, Hugh, Earl, Ed Bumgarner and Mary Jo Starnes; and her parents, Bill Bumgarner and Roena Bumgarner of Candler, NC..
She is survived by: her stepchildren, Watson Eargle (Verta), Wyatt Eargle (Sherry), Jean Senterfeit (Richard), Tiffany Coleman, Leslie Smith (Trey), Megan Miller (Wesley) and Sarah Derrick (Brady); her great grandchildren, Emily Coleman, Walker Smith, Maggie Miller and Matthew Derrick; her children, Ernie Mehaffey (Beth) and Joy Lynn Harley (Kevin); her grandchildren, Aaron (Laura Mehaffey), Barret (Chrissy Mehaffey), Connor (Alexis Mehaffey), David (Katie Harley) and John Harley; her great grandchildren, Penny Layne Mehaffey and Abigail Rose Mehaffey; and her sister Eula Williams.
In place of flowers, memorials may be made to Bethel Baptist Church for International Mission Development (IMD).
