He was predeceased by: his parents, Benjamin Frank and Ruth Corley Rodgers; his wife Betty Jean Hartley Rodgers; his son Gene Ray Rodgers; and his siblings, Jimmy Rodgers, Muriel Hall and Peggy Douglas.
He is survived by: his daughters, Cindy Hartley, Debbie Poole (Larry) and Joy Shumpert (Allen); his daughter-in-law Celia Rodgers of Batesburg; his grandchildren, Ryan Hartley (Mary), Brenn Hartley, Amber Hartley, Sarah Poole, Beth Poole and Kaitlyn Shumpert Moseley (Tristan); and his great grandchild Rayns Hartley.
The family requests in lieu of flowers, memorials be made to Samaria Baptist Church, 6560 Fairview Road, Batesburg, S.C 29006.
