With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Douglas Edward McManus of Batesburg, South Carolina, born in Lancaster, South Carolina, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on November 9, 2024. He was predeceased by: his parents, Manley Ferris and Evelyn Steele McManus; and his siblings, Rodney Pittman and Sheila McManus. He is survived by: his wife Patsy A Ferrell McManus; his children, Douglas Edward McManus, Jr. (Lorna David), Melinna Williams (Jeff) and Christian Ann McManus; his grandchildren, Devin Lewter, Tyler McManus, London Lewter and Logan McManus; and his sisters, Jeryl Blackstock and Tiffany Axe.
Visitation was held on Monday, November 18th 2024 at 10:00 AM at the Barr-Price Funeral Home and Crematorium (256 Main St, Leesville, SC 29070). A funeral service was held on Monday, November 18th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the Barr-Price Funeral Home Batesburg-Leesville Chapel (256 Main St, Leesville, SC 29070). A burial was held on Monday, November 18th 2024 at the Fort Jackson National Cemetery (4170 Percival Rd, Columbia, SC 29229).
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the St. Jude's Children's Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
