He was loved and cherished by many people including: his grandparents, Reverend Booker T. and Dora Baston; his cousins, Zeborah, Derell, Herman, Corwin, Antwon, Andre and Desmond; his mother Mary Ann Baston; his sister Eboni Natasha Bowers; his nephew Therone Bowers; his grandparents, J. C. and Sarah Bowers; his sons, Thayer DeVonté Boyd of Columbia and Zachary Boyd of Columbia; his father Jackie C. Bowers of San Diego, California; his sister Alexis Diahann Bowers (Stephone) of Columbia; his granddaughter Kamryn McKensie Boyd of Columbia; his nephews, Quincy of Columbia and Brandon Bowers of Columbia; and his brother Daryl Harris of Edgefield. He was also cherished by eight aunts and one uncle; a host of cousins.
Their rousing renditions of classic gospel music followed the foundation laid by "The Baston Singers," the group which included his mother and aunts, inspired by his grandparents the late Reverend Booker T. & Dora Baston.
