He was predeceased by: his parent Hugh McCauley; and his brothers, Hugh L., John, T. W., Jesse "Jug" T., David R. Buzhardt and Larry C. Buzhardt.

He is survived by: his parent Myrtle Matthews Buzhardt; his wife Carole Kirkland Buzhardt; his son Barry Buzhardt (Lori); his grandchildren, Taylor Buzhardt and Mitchell Buzhardt; and his sister Frances McCarty.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Saluda Nursing Center P. O. Box 398 Saluda, SC 29138.
