She was loved and cherished by many people including: her parents, Laurens Calvitte Strain and Rosa Brisendine Strain Wisehart; her husband James Vincent "Jim" Muthig; and her children, Patricia "Patty" Burks of Raleigh, NC, Carolyn Carder (Ashley) of Batesburg-Leesville, Mary Jeffcoat (Allen) of Myrtle Beach, William "Bill" Muthig (Bobbie Sue) of Beaufort, Paul Muthig (Billie) of Columbia, David Muthig (Cindy) of Columbia, Michael Muthig of Adelaide and Margaret Hines (Dan) of Childersburg, Ala. She was also cherished by 14 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Paul's Episcopal Church, 415 Wilson St, Batesburg-Leesville, South Carolina 29006.
