He was predeceased by: his parents, Ossie Monroe and Lula Brown Hyman; and his siblings, Jimmie Monroe Hyman, Lois Cox, Margaret Parham and Genevia Gandy.

He is survived by: his wife Frances Hyman; his sons, Tim Hyman (Julie) and Bruce Hyman (Gail); his sisters-in-law, Amelia Hyman and Merrie Hyman; and his grandchild Khloe Hyman. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorial may be made to the First Baptist Church of Batesburg Parking Lot Fund, 436 West Church Street, Batesburg, SC 29006.
