She was predeceased by: her parents, Walter G. Smith and Mable E. McCarty Smith; and her husband William A. "Bill" Godwin. She is survived by: her children, Richard Godwin, Merrie Gulledge (Terry), Julie Jones (Jeffrey) and Donna Steele; her sister Peggy Ann Alveshire; and her grandchildren, Stephen Smith, Brandon Smith (Stephanie), Destiny Gulledge and Laila Gulledge. She is also survived by 6 great-grandchildren.
