He was predeceased by: his parents, James Frank Hiers and Mildred Luella Hartzog Hiers; his brother James Earl Hiers; and his grandsons, Joshua Lovell Quattlebaum and Robert Michael Hiers.
He is survived by: his wife Kathryn Ann Krutchek Hiers; his children, Marissa Young (James) of Cope, SC, Michael Hiers (Frankie) of Barnwell and Scotty Hiers (Sandy) of Macedonia, SC; his sisters, Shelby Kittrell of Cope, SC, Alice Batchler of Gaston, SC and Debra Croft (Wayne) of Barnwell; his sisters-in-law, Gloria Hiers and Mary Strauss; his grandchildren, Alexandra Caroline Young, James Cody Hiers (Lindsey) and Benjamin Gage Hiers (Amanda); his great grandchildren, Levi Hiers, Harley Hiers, Wyatt Hiers, Jayson Campbell, Raelynn Hiers, Theodore Hiers and Brooke Bradford; and his niece Elizabeth Schilling. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
