Dorothy Farris Obituary
It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Dorothy Farris of Barnwell, South Carolina, who passed away on February 5, 2025, at the age of 88, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Mary Agnes Steverson Gleaton of Springfield, SC. and Thomas L. Gleaton; her siblings, Mary Jane G. Milliken, David, Gerald and Wilton Gleaton; her siblings-in-law, John Davis and Ann Gleaton; her niece Nancy Z. Ross-Hodson; and her grandson Patrick John "PJ" Ross.
She is survived by: her children, Jimmy Steverson Smith, Mary Lynn B. Browne (Charles), Deborah S. Davis (Pastor Larry), Mildred Faye Monroe and Stephanie Z. Lauderdale (Pastor Todd); her siblings, Tommy Gleaton (Ovilla), John Gleaton (Dang), Joe Gleaton (Michelle), Nancy G. Hutto (George) and Sarah G. Ferguson (Rick); her grandchildren, Chad Fanning, Haley F. Blyther (Tyrell), Tiffany F. Griffith (Edward), Melissa Faye Poole, Daphne P. Goodwin (Bobby), LeighAnn Wilson (Avery), Tony McCarty, John Ross (Raegan), Justin Ross (Angelica), Michael Ross (Lidia) and Douglas Zellanack (Sarah); and also Sarah Gleaton. She is also survived by numerous great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, February 22nd 2025 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Folk Funeral Home (170 Elko St, Williston, SC 29853-2612). A memorial service will be held on Saturday, February 22nd 2025 at 3:00 PM at the same location.
