He is survived by: his children, Christopher Nix (Stephanie) of Cordova, SC, Ashley Nix of Orangeburg, SC and Barbra Herron of Barnwell; his siblings, Lonnie Padgett (Nicole) of Cope, SC, Greg Nix (Sherry) of Barnwell, SC, Dee Dee Meeks (Charles) of Bamberg, SC and Karen Proveaux (Gerald) of Branchville, SC; his close friend Angela Bryant; and his pet Zeus. He is also survived by five grandchildren.
