She was predeceased by: her parents, Robert Lee Harrell and Lindell Adams Harrell. She is survived by: her husband James Edward Layden; her daughter Jamie L. Brown (Jeff) of Bamberg; her siblings, Peggy Harris of Hertford, NC and Carl Harrell of Edenton, NC; her grandchildren, Jennifer Richards (Scott), Jordan Brown (Kaitlyn Sheppard), John Brown (Sarah), Nathanael Brown, Susanna Brown and Samuel Brown; and her great grandchild Logan Brown. She is also survived by nieces and nephews.
