She was predeceased by: her parents, Lawrence Coakley and Rebecca Coakley; and her siblings, Lawrence Coakley (Ethel), Celestine Ravenel (Leon), Henry Coakley (Edith), Albertha Dawson (Benjamin) and Benjamin Coakley.
She is survived by: her husband Henry Washington; her children, Michael Coakley (Doreen) and Patrice Washington Simmons (Robert); her grandchildren, Quadre'Stuckey, Ra'Qual Simmons and Qway'Jon Simmons; and her siblings-in-law, Edith Coakley, Janice Coakley, Hattie Turner, Barbara Jones, Benjamin Dawson and Calvin Washington. She is also survived by relatives and friends.
Viewing was held on Friday, January 17th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM and on Saturday, January 18th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Bryan McNeal Sr. Memorial Chapel (4129 Highway 17 North, Awendaw, SC 29429).
