He is survived by: his wife Janet Heyward; his children, Stephen Elliott Heyward, Jr. (Mallori) and Kathryn Lynn Heyward; and his siblings, William Barnwell Heyward, Jr. (Tricia), Charles Lee Heyward (Terry) and Millie Heyward Reed (Jim). He is also survived by cousins, nieces, nephews and very close lifelong friends.
