He was predeceased by: his parents, Otto Frederich Koenig and Freda Wild Koenig. He is survived by: his wife Barbara Koenig of Awendaw, SC; his children, Dawn Marie Bennett of Charleston, SC and Frederick Richard Koenig, II of Spartanburg, SC; and his stepchildren, Colleen Brignale of Danielson, CT, Barbara Lee Connor of Mt. Pleasant, SC, Stephen Q Hayes, IV of St. George, SC, Kevin Joseph Hayes of Huger, SC and Cynthia Brooks of Pittsburg, PA. He is also survived by 22 grandchildren, and 25 great-grandchildren.
