She was predeceased by: her parents, Calvin Bethel Avant and Bertie Viola Cribb Avant; her husband Lucius; her children, Lucius Barden "Bart" Driggers, III, Jonathan Craig Diggers and LuAnn D. Griffeth; and her siblings, Ruby Owens, Hennis Avant, Ted Avant, Freddie Avant, Don Avant, Dottie Barnhill, Winston Avant, Odell Avant, Delaine Clemons and Margaret Ammons.

She is survived by: her children, Clint Steele Driggers (Leslie Matthews), Maria Lynn Cleversey, Toni D. Glancy (David Rodriguez) and Joni Beth Nesbitt (Steven). She is also survived by thirteen grandchildren and twenty-eight great-grandchildren.
